BMR Calculator

What is basal metabolic rate?

Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the number of calories your body burns at complete rest to keep you alive - breathing, circulation, cell production, and temperature regulation. BMR accounts for 60-75% of total daily calorie burn. Most adults have a BMR between 1,200 and 2,400 kcal/day, depending on age, sex, weight, and muscle mass.
